Vintage French Chemistry Glassware - Set of three

Sorry, this item has sold.

A trio of simple and beautiful pieces of chemistry glass from the turn of the century, these were hand-blown and have a perfect, textural irregularity to them (visible best in 5th picture). They are wonderful grouped together for an usual arrangement for flowers.

These beautiful chemistry pieces hail from a family home not far from Paris where a family of painters and musicians traces their roots back to a great-grandfather who was a chemist at the turn of the century. It's not often their stories are passed down with the pieces I find so it was wonderful to hear about and see a picture of the man who worked with these.

Dimensions: approx.
Beaker - 8.5 cm x 13.5 cm / 3.25 in x 5.25 in
Bowls - 7 cm x 3.5 cm / 2.75 in x 1.4 in & 6 cm x 3.5 cm / 2.3 in x 1.4 in

These pieces wear their history like all vintage pieces which only adds to their story. These glass pieces hae no chips or cracks. The larger of the bowls has been 'frosted' by time and Monsieur's experiments.

Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!

Q. What is a 'brocante'?

A. 'Brocante' is the French word for a flea and antiques market. I discovered the joy of them more than 10 years ago when I came to visit my now husband for the first time in his native France. And I love them just as much today as that first visit all those years ago!

Q. Will you search the French brocantes for a specific piece/type of item for me?

A. I'd be happy to! Feel free to reach out if you are looking for something specific. Although, because of the very nature of vintage brocantes and flea markets, I can never guarantee when or if I will find an item, I'm always happy to look and keep a running list of customer requests.

Q. Can you reserve an item for me?

A. Yes. Contact me with the item(s) you are interested in, and what your time frame is, and I can put a reserve on them for you. I ask that you make your purchase within the month on reserved items. A reserve is non-bidding. Simply send me a message to cancel.
